Here the Itinerary is:
Day 1. From surabaya to Banyuwangi
We would suggest you to take a flight that arrive in Surabaya before noon / In the morning.
After arriving in juanda international airport in surabaya. We take you in airport. Then we drive to Banyuwangi. It takes around 7-8 hour to arrive in Banyuwangi. On the way to Banyuwangi we will have lunch or dinner at warung or restaurant.
After arriving in Banyuwangi, check in to hotel or other option (you can stay in miner house so you will know their home, life, garden, and also rice field around of miner home) in the evening is your rest time, if you stay in the village, in this time you might take walk to village or just enjoying rest time with local people in miner home. Then you can take time to prepare going to kawah ijen in early morning.
Day 2. Ijen blue fire to Bromo.
Actually there are two packets in ijen tour, the firs is blue fire packet and day tour packet. Here I tell you about blue fire packet.
We go to ijen crater at 01.00 am. We are carried by 4-WD jeep and accompanied by local guide. The driver takes us to paltuding the name of parking area. From here you you walk up to the top of ijen. You will walk up around 90 minutes or 3 kilometer, after arriving in the top. You walk down to the sulfur source near from Crater Lake. Then you can enjoy blue fire and take photos. My suggestion don’t take long time to take photo or enjoy the blue fire, because if the thick smoke come to your eyes, it will make biting in the eyes. After finishing taking photos we directly walk up to the top of ijen mount and waiting for amazing few in top of ijen. Usually finishes around 8 am. Then we are come back to hotel / miner home. Have breakfast, pack up. If you stay in the hotel, you should check out before at noon.
Then we continue to cemoro lawang / Bromo. It take around 5-6 hour to get there. On the way to Bromo we have rest for moment with drinking young coconut ice in the sea shore, after arriving in Bromo, check in the hotel. We might book the hotel in bromo in advance trough online booking system. Alternatively we can book it for you. Such as lava view, java banana, yoschi, it subject to the room available of respective hotel. This time is your rest time.
Day 3. Bromo Sunrise Tour – Mada Kalipura water fall – Surabaya
3.45 a.m. wake up! We took a 4.2 liter engine jeep to the Bromo lookout point called Mount Penanjakan. Very bumpy ride, the view point was not packed with tourists this time, so I told the jeep driver to take us to the touristy point, not to my usual secret place for my customers to take pictures without any other tourists blocking the view.
The sunrise was a good one. There were two perspectives, to the east the sun is rising over the horizon and to the west the breathtaking view of Mount Bromo, surrounded by many towering mountains, and one of them – Semeru – usually erupts every 15 – 25 minutes. On a clear day, the sunlight pours over the slopes of other mountains, highlighting the colorful scenery. I see Bromo several times a month and I enjoy the sounds of everyone getting excited. The sweet melodies of Javanese singing in their language and the eeewwwww’s and ahhhh’s building up as the sun rise got closer.
Back in the Jeep for another rocky ride to Bromo not too far away. When we got there I had to deal with all those horse masters who wanted the tourists to choose their horses for riding. In this place you may on horseback or just walk to stairs of Bromo.
Looking at the volcano this tour to Bromo was quite an easy one for us . We went back to the hotel to have breakfast, and after that we were off to one of my favorite places in Java, the hidden paradise Mada waterfall. I like this place partly because there are very few tourists who go there. Most of them come from the cities nearby.
I provided a plastic box for protected camera from water. Then we started a walk through a nice landscape on a small zigzagging path – a river coming from the waterfall.
Along this path we went under some falling water which was just freezing cold. The screams of excitement began, the end of the track was a massive cascading waterfall with a pool of water at the bottom.
The local people say that the waterfall is known for its healing qualities. It rained the previous day so the water was pounding heavily on top of our heads. Then we plunged into the pool of water to swim about. Water relaxes me. I was filled with utter joy, pleasure and amazement. Our tour in water fall might take around 2 hours in total then go on to Surabaya.
If you feel not tired then you can take evening flight from Surabaya at the last day of this tour you might not stay for 4 days, only 3 days
